Return/Exchange Policy (Updated with Care & Maintenance)

We want you to love the Utah Man merchandise you receive just as much as we love creating it. If for any reason your order doesn’t work out as planned, we offer a 30-day return window (excluding items discounted 30% or more). Return instructions can be found at the end of this policy.

30-Day Returns

We have a 30-day return window for all items on our site (excluding items discounted 30% or more). This return window begins once your package has been delivered to you.

In the unlikely event that you’ve received an incorrect item, a missing item, or an item that arrives damaged, please submit a ticket to our Support Team right away. (Failure to notify our Support Team before shipment may cause your item to be subject to our Returns Policy, along with any costs that may be associated with a denied return.)

Return Standards & Conditions

We gladly accept returns for both refunds and exchanges.

  • Exchanges can only be requested for the same item in alternate sizes.
  • If your exchange cannot be completed due to unavailable stock, or a different item is requested, a refund will be issued.
  • Once your return has been delivered, please allow our team 15–20 business days to inspect and process your return/exchange. If your return has not been processed within that timeframe, please email us and our team will handle your return immediately.

Care & Maintenance Requirements (Important)

To keep our return process fair and to maintain product quality standards, returned items must meet the following condition requirements:

  • Items must be unwashed and not put through a dryer.
  • Items covered in animal/human hair are subject to denial.
  • Items covered in glitter, powder, skin cells, or other matter are subject to denial.
  • Items with pilling may be subject to denial.
  • Items with strong odors (smoke, cologne, detergent, scented sprays, body odor, etc.) will not be accepted.
  • Items with markings or stains (including deodorant) will not be accepted.
  • Items that have been altered in any way will not be accepted.
  • Many (but not all) items include Utah Man tags. Please ensure Utah Man and sizing tags are attached, or your return may be subject to denial.

Caring for Screen Print & Tackle Twill Logos

Many Utah Man items include screen printed and tackle twill logos. These features are durable, but they are sensitive to heat and improper handling. To preserve quality:

  • Wash with like colors (darks with darks, brights with brights, whites with whites)
  • Machine wash cold
  • Wash garments inside out
  • Hang dry only — do not use the dryer
  • Do not iron directly over logos
  • If ironing is necessary, iron inside out and avoid all printed and tackle twill areas

Most important: Do not place items in the dryer. Hang dry immediately after washing. Dryer heat can cause fading, shrinkage, cracking/peeling, and premature wear.

How Care Impacts Returns/Exchanges

Items that show signs of dryer use, heat damage, washing, staining, strong odors, or wear may be ineligible for return or exchange. This protects customers by ensuring all returned items meet hygiene and quality standards.

Verification of Return Items

By adding items to your return, you are making a legal and ethical commitment that:

Item Confirmation

You have physically received ALL the items you are attempting to return. This means:

  • The items match exactly what you are listing in the return
  • You have not misplaced or lost any part of the order
  • You can account for each item being returned

Genuine Intent to Return

You sincerely intend to complete the return process. This involves:

  • Following all return guidelines
  • Ensuring items meet our return condition standards
  • Submitting items in the same condition as received
  • Completing the return within our 30-day window

Potential Consequences of Misrepresentation

Returns that do not meet this verification standards may be:

  • Denied processing
  • Subject to additional review
  • Potentially refused for refund or exchange
  • Could result in account restrictions for repeated violations

Non-Returnable Items (Hygiene)

We cannot accept returns (including issuing refunds) or exchanges on any:

  • Water bottles
  • Face masks
  • Underwear
  • Bodysuits
  • Socks

Swimwear can be returned only if the original liner is still attached. If the liner is detached, we cannot accept any returns (both refunds and exchanges) due to hygiene reasons.

Return Shipping & Fees

  • At this time, we do not cover the cost of return shipping.
  • For domestic US customers, the label cost will be deducted automatically from the product(s) you are returning through our return portal.
  • For international customers shopping in our US store, we have instructions for self-shipping using the courier of your choice.
  • If you are returning your entire order, please note that the original shipping costs will not be refunded.

Any returns delivered outside of 45 days of the delivery date of your order may be subject to denial. Please contact our support team if your return is delayed unexpectedly.

If your return is denied, we will notify you via email. Your order will then be reshipped to you within 4–7 business days. (Please be aware that after two consecutive denied returns, if your item still violates the return policy, it will be donated on your behalf.)

Can Sale Items Be Returned?

Any items discounted 30% or more are considered final sale and cannot be returned for a refund or exchange. Items discounted less than 30% are welcome to be returned within our 30-day window.

Although ineligible for returns, items marked as final sale are still covered under our Warranty Policy.
